Claude Berrebi Biography
Claude is a Professor of Economics and Public Policy at Hebrew University’s School of Public Policy. Prior to joining Hebrew University, he was a Professor of Economics in the Pardee RAND Graduate School, an Economist at RAND, and a Visiting Associate Professor of Economics at UCLA. In 2011 he was appointed the head of the Executive Master Program in Public Policy (ExMPP) at Hebrew University, a position he held till 2019. Between 2015 and 2018 Claude was also the Deputy Director General, the Director of Research, and the Labor Policy program chair at the Taub Center for social policy studies in Israel. During his sabbatical in 2019 Claude was the Israel Institute Visiting Professor at Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA).
Claude’s terrorism and counterterrorism research has been extensively cited and published in top Economics, Public Policy and Political Science academic journals. His research has been featured in top seller publications, and contributed to several defense and security related books. Claude’s broader research agenda addresses major public policy concerns related to security, economics, and politics as well as other topical issues. In recent years Claude's studies spanned policy issues related to the labor markets (as well as future labor markets), the Israeli economy, national socio-economic strategic planning, public economics, political economy, as well as other individual-level micro-economics behaviors, and has been featured extensively in major national and international media outlets.
