Dylan Connor is a professor of geography. He uses big data to study the role of geographic forces in shaping patterns of human behavior, migration, social mobility and inequality over long periods of time.
Dr. Connor is originally from Dublin, Ireland, and he is one of six sons. He grew up in Ballybrack, a traditionally working-class suburb of South Dublin, and he was in the first generation of his family to go to college.
He became acquainted with the field of economic history through Cormac Ó Gráda (University College Dublin) and he began working with Leah Boustan after moving to UCLA to pursue a PhD.
