Melissa Clark is Director of Education Research at Mathematica, where she specializes in the design and implementation of rigorous impact evaluations, with a focus on education policy. Dr. Clark's recent research has focused on how best to train and support teachers and school leaders. She has served as principal investigator on several large-scale random assignment evaluations for the U.S. Department of Education, including evaluations of highly selective alternative teacher certification programs such as Teach For America, intensive professional development for principals, and video-based coaching for teachers. She is currently directing a large-scale descriptive evaluation of teacher residency programs and their contributions to the teacher pipeline.
